02INTRODUCTION

What is it about?
This initiative aims to establish coherent, cross-sectoral gender equality policies in Austria’s higher education and research area, aligning with European developments.
The initiative supports an ongoing, cross-sectoral dialogue to foster exchange and cooperation among key stakeholders. It increases awareness of structural inequalities and the various forms and impacts of gender-based violence.
This initiative supports the consideration of the gender dimension and diversity aspects in the fields of research, technology and innovation (RTI).
Goals & Key Activities
- Developing and implementing a framework for institutional Codes of Conduct to address and prevent gender-based violence in science and research;
- Continuing a structured Gender Equality Dialogue to further develop inclusive Gender Equality Plans and to foster gender and diversity competence;
- Supporting the systematic integration of the gender dimension and diversity aspects into research, technology, and innovation (RTI) content.
