Field of Action 4: Enable Knowledge Transfer to Industry and Society

Research is particularly effective when its findings are effectively incorporated into social, economic and political processes. The aim of this field of action is to promote the exploitation and transfer of knowledge in order to catch up with the innovation leaders and effectively address societal challenges. This includes the targeted development of competencies and structures for knowledge and technology transfer, as well as the strategic identification of priorities in Austrian research activities with high innovation and growth potential. At the same time, the role of science in political decision-making processes is strengthened, for example through targeted coordination and systematic competence development in the field of science for policy.
