European universities and research organisation associations propose joint FP10 amendments
Organisations representing Europe’s universities and research and innovation community have unveiled a coordinated package of amendments to the European Commission’s proposals for the 10th EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP10).
Speaking with one voice, they urge EU decision-makers to equip Europe to “move at the speed and scale that the moment demands”, and to markedly strengthen Europe’s capacity to lead in cutting-edge research and innovation.
Seven major university and research networks – CESAER, the Coimbra Group, the European University Association (EUA), EU-LIFE, the Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities, the League of European Research Universities (LERU) and the Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN) – have published:
- a cover note outlining shared objectives and key proposals for FP10 (2028–2034), and
- a detailed list of jointly proposed amendments to the FP10 legal texts.
Representing over 900 universities and research institutes, they call for an FP10 that boosts excellent science, attracts top global talent, and turns knowledge into tangible societal and economic impact, strengthening Europe’s resilience, competitiveness and prosperity.
The signatories, joined in support by ALLEA, Aurora, ECIU, ISE, MCAA, UNICA and the Young Academy of Europe, stand ready to assist co-legislators throughout the negotiations to ensure FP10 fully delivers on Europe’s ambitions.
