EC publishes literature review on research and technology infrastructures
The European Commission has published a 'Research and Technology Infrastructures Literature Review'. This literature review provides short summaries of recent scientific articles discussing the challenges of research and technology infrastructures. The publication is developed by the Team on ‘Economics of Research and Innovation’ of the Chief Economist Unit (G.1) in the European Commission’s Directorate General for Research and Innovation.
The EC points out that Europe's world-class research and technology infrastructures are vital for scientific progress, innovation, and competitiveness. The 2025 European Strategy reinforces this unique asset through integrated investment and a long-term vision. This review explores scholarly perspectives on the open challenges of research and technology infrastructures to promote an informed debate crucial for European competitiveness and the 'Choose Europe for Science' strategy.
