141 doctoral programmes selected under MSCA Doctoral Networks Call 2025
The European Commission has announced the results of the 2025 call for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks, allocating €617.18 million to support 141 doctoral programmes. The funding will train approximately 2,115 doctoral candidates, preparing them for careers both within and beyond academia.
The call drew strong interest, with 1,616 applications submitted by organisations from across Europe and worldwide.
To strengthen links between academia and industry, the Commission has introduced incentives for two specific types of doctorates. Five Industrial Doctorates will enable researchers to gain experience in non-academic environments, including industry, business and the public sector. Eight Joint Doctorates will provide integrated training leading to joint or multiple doctoral degrees.
The selected projects span all scientific disciplines, from fundamental research to applied science, and address key societal challenges such as climate change, health, digital transformation, energy, sustainable development and social innovation.
The next call for MSCA Doctoral Networks is planned to open on 28 May 2026.
