117 new EU-funded projects launched under Horizon Europe to support green transition
A total of 117 new projects have secured €742 million in EU funding under Horizon Europe’s Cluster 6, which focuses on food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and the environment. The projects have now signed Grant Agreements with the European Commission. Some are already under way, while others are expected to start in the coming months.
According to the Commission, the projects will contribute to the goals of the European Green Deal by addressing environmental degradation, biodiversity loss, natural resource management, and food and water security. The selected initiatives cover a wide range of areas. They include biodiversity monitoring, ecosystem modelling and citizen science, as well as research to support more sustainable food systems, stronger plant health and improved crisis nutrition.
Together, the projects are intended to support Europe’s transition to a more sustainable economy and society.
