Study on Assessing the Research Management Performance of FP Projects

The "Study on Assessing the Research Management Performance of Framework Programmes Projects" was commissioned by the European Commission, DG Research and Innovation. It explores the variety of research management structures, roles, tasks, responsibilities, activities and styles in relation to research management performance and project success in Framework Programmes 6 and 7. The key findings indicate six enabling factors of high research management performance. On the basis of these findings, the study makes a series of recommendations to the Commission for implementation in Horizon 2020 and to Project Coordinators, including the suggestion to critically review currently offered EC-provided project management tools and matchmaking instruments.
