The future of Artificial Intelligence and the implications for Materials Science workshop

The European Commission's Directorate-General for Research & Innovation, and the OECD's Directorate for Science Technology and Innovation are jointly organising a workshop on the impact of advances in AI on the future of materials science. 

This virtual one-day workshop will offer insights into: 

• AI's current and possible future impacts in areas ranging from computational design of new materials to autonomous lab systems
• key recent breakthroughs
• what AI can’t yet do
• where progress is most needed, how to generate real-world impact at scale from advances in the science
• and, key enabling policies and infrastructures

Attention will likewise be given to the merits of establishing moonshots around critical materials.
