01DESCRIPTION

The Industrial Transformation Unit (E3) is part of the ‘Prosperity’ Directorate in DG Research&Innovation. The Directorate aims to create prosperity and jobs across Europe.

The expert to be selected will be part of an Advanced Materials Team of around 5 colleagues implementing the Advanced Materials Communication as well as to preparing a proposal for an Advanced Materials Act in 2026. The daily work on implementing the Communication and preparing the Advanced Materials Act, including the necessary impact assessment justifying the proposal for such an Act, will go hand in hand.

The jobholder will analyse and steer with another team member different studies announced under the Advanced Materials Communication, notably on technology infrastructures (the so-called open innovation test beds), patentability of innovations related to advanced materials (jointly with DG GROW), substitution of critical raw materials by research in advanced materials (jointly with the Joint Research Centre), and the production and use of advanced materials (jointly with DG GROW). The jobholder will also fully support the impact assessment leading towards a proposal for an Advanced Materials Act end of 2006. The work on the impact assessment will be launched by the end of 2025. The envisaged Advanced Materials Act should be designed to meet two objectives: tackling the exponentially increasing demand for advanced materials in Europe and setting incentives/developing tools for more investments into the necessary research, manufacturing and production capacities in Europe. .

The Permanent Representation of Austria to the EU points out that ONLY applications submitted by the Permanent Representation will be considered. Interested parties are therefore requested to send application documents (Europass CV, letter of motivation and declaration of approval of the employer) in English by May, 19, 2025 by email to sne.bruessel-ov@bmeia.gv.at.

Only the “Europass CV” form should be used to create the CV. Applicants must state the exact name of the position for which they are applying (e.g. JRC-B-5) in all documents submitted.
