FG IV – Project Officer - Science for Policy Researcher – Tracking land carbon towards climate neutrality

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) provides independent, evidence-based knowledge and science, supporting EU policies to positively impact society.

The current vacancy is in the Forests and Bioeconomy Unit of Directorate for Sustainable Resources of the JRC.

The work will contribute to the implementation of various land and climate-related policies in the EU, such as the Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) regulation and EU forest strategy, also through the use of forest modelling and with Earth observation data input.

The goal is to monitor progress towards EU climate targets, assess gaps and opportunities for the forest sector to contribute reaching climate neutrality, and improve the estimation of LULUCF greenhouse gas fluxes.
