Commission launches new Biotech and Biomanufacturing Hub

On 30 January 2025, the European Commission launched a new Biotech and Biomanufacturing Hub to foster innovation and support the European biotech sector. This new initiative aims to assist companies, especially start-ups and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in bringing groundbreaking products to the European Union market and enhancing their competitiveness.
The newly established Hub, hosted on the Commission’s Your Europe portal, will act as a centralised operational tool, providing easy and accessible information on EU legislation, financing opportunities, and business support networks. Key among these networks are the Enterprise Europe Network and the European Cluster Collaboration Platform, which will play pivotal roles in supporting the continuous development of the Hub.
Designed to break down complex processes and regulations, the Hub will explain in an accessible way – and in all EU languages – critical resources and requirements for biotech and biomanufacturing companies, e.g. information on facilities and infrastructures that can support biotech or biomanufacturing Research & Development efforts.
A dedicated taskforce of SME advisors, under the Enterprise Europe Network, will support the continuous development of the Hub. This taskforce will ensure that companies can easily navigate the available resources, allowing for smoother and more efficient growth and expansion.
