Conference on the future of European Universities
- Is Europe ready to truly innovate its higher education? European Universities are the change agents for the European Education Area. European universities are the frontrunner with bold educational innovations like challenge-based learning, cross-border micro-credentials and the development of a European degree. Is Europe ready to support these types of educational innovations?
- What support from Horizon Europe do European Universities need? European universities need a research mission to be full-fledged universities. Moreover, they are perfectly placed to raise the competitiveness of the European Research Area. How should this research support look like?
- How to realise European base funding to establish sustainable European Universities? To establish a European University, long-term commitment is essential. The EU has our long-term commitment, but the pilot funding only lasts for three years. At the moment, it is unclear how a follow-up will look like. We cannot use our students as a test case. We need clarity about what will happen after 2022 to move towards an integrated financial model for European universities.
