EUA, EARTO and Science Europe call for €200 billion FP10 budget
In an open letter to Commissioner Ivanova, the European University Association (EUA), the European Association of Research and Technology Organisations (EARTO), and Science Europe stress the crucial role that EU research and innovation investments play in addressing global challenges, boosting the EU's global competitiveness, and reinforcing its strategic autonomy. They support the demand of some MEPs to increase the budget in the next Framework Programme to € 200 billion, and thus to more than double it. They also call for more budget stability and emphasise that additional funds are also needed for new priorities.
Apart from the budget, the associations emphasise other elements such as support throughout the entire R&I cycle, improved synergies with other EU programmes and the need for national efforts.
