ERC awards new Consolidator Grants to 308 researchers
On 23 November 2023, the European Research Council (ERC) announced the results of the latest Consolidator Grant round. The ERC will award €627m in grants to 308 excellent researchers at the career stage where they may still be consolidating their own independent research teams.
Women won 39% of the grants in this competition, the highest ever share for Consolidator Grants. The laureates of this grant competition will carry out their projects at universities and research centres in 22 EU Member States and other countries associated with Horizon Europe. Among the EU countries, the highest numbers of grants will be located in Germany (66 projects), the Netherlands (36), France (23) and Spain (23). Nationals of 43 countries are among the winners of this call, notably German (56 researchers), Italian (36) and Dutch (27) nationals. 15 grants will be located in Austria:

In addition, a new appointment at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) has resulted in a further ERC Consolidator grant project that was previously assigned to Great Britain.
