EC publishes €35 million Horizon 2020 call to contribute to developing AI solutions for cancer
On 9 July 2019, the European Commission (EC) launched a call for proposals under the Research Framework Programme Horizon 2020 which will make € 35 million available for developing Artificial Intelligence solutions for cancer prevention and treatment. Projects selected under this call will support the development of analysis of health images for cancer diagnostics based on Artificial Intelligence, as well as other tools and analytics focused on the prevention, prediction and treatment of the most common forms of cancer. The budget of this Horizon 2020 call is part of a total of €177 million to be spent on the 'Digital Transformation of Health and Care' and 'Trusted digital solutions and Cybersecurity in Health and Care'. Cancer is also part of the research and innovation Missions under the next Framework Programme Horizon Europe.
