Switzerland and Turkey join EuroHPC Joint Undertaking
As the 27th and 28th member countries, Switzerland and Turkey have joined the European High Performance Computing (EuroHPC) Joint Undertaking. Switzerland’s own national supercomputing centre was founded in 1991. It is the home of several supercomputers, including Piz Daint, which is currently Europe’s fastest supercomputer, and the fifth most powerful in the world.Turkey’s National Center for High Performance Computing, based in Istanbul, has provided hardware and software infrastructure for 500 scientific projects, and it hosts five research groups in areas ranging from big data to computational earth system science.
