EC publishes recent H2020 call evaluation results

The European Commission (EC) has published the evaluation results for several recent calls under Horizon 2020 on its Participant Portal.

The recent call on "Mobilising Research Excellence in EU Outermost Regions" in the work programme part "Science with and for Society" closed on 10 April 2018. It received a total of 5 proposals, 2 of which were above threshold, requesting a total budget of nearly € 8 million, compared to an available budget of € 4 million for the call.

The call "FET Proactive – Boosting emerging technologies" in the work programme part "Future and Emerging Technologies" under the "Excellent Science" pillar closed on 22 March 2018. For "FET Proactive: emerging paradigms and communities", a total of 98 proposals were submitted, with 52 above threshold, requesting a budget of around € 293 million. "Community building in neuromorphic computer technologies" received 2 proposals, with 1 above threshold requesting a budget of about € 500,000,-. The total budget available for this call was € 88.5 million.

"FET Open – Novel ideas for radically new technologies", also in the work programme part "Future and Emerging Technologies" under the "Excellent Science" pillar, closed its call on 11 April 2018. A total of 17 proposals were submitted for the FET-Open Coordination and Support Actions. 9 of them were above threshold, requesting around € 5.2 million, compared to an available budget of € 2 million for the call.

The call "European Data Infrastructure" in the "European Research Infrastructures" work programme part under the "Excellent Science" pillar received 1 proposal for "Pan-European High Performance Computing infrastructure and services (PRACE)"; the proposal was above threshold and requested a budget of € 24 million. "HPC PPP - Centres of Excellence on HPC" received 19 proposals, of which 16 were above threshold. They requested a budget of € 126 million, compared to a total budget of € 98.9 million for the call.

"Implementing the European Open Science Cloud", again under the "European Research Infrastructures" work programme part under the "Excellent Science" pillar, reveived 1 above-threshold proposal in total. The proposal requested € 12 million, which is also the budget available for this call.
