MLE on Widening Participation publishes report on encouraging science-business cooperation
The Mutual Learning Exercise (MLE) on Widening Participation and Synergies has published its Topic Report 2 on encouraging science-business cooperation on the European Commission's Research and Innovation Observatory website. The report reflects the results achieved in a workshop organised under the MLE devoted to widening participation to FP and enhancing synergies between FP and ESIF.
The focus of this report is on strategies, reforms, programmes and schemes developed at national or regional level and aiming at encouraging science-business cooperation in order to reinforce participation in the EU FP. The paper provides a landscape of instruments and discusses the issue of designing an effective policy mix to promote science-business cooperation. The paper also provides lessons from existing practice with a focus on three instruments: Technology Transfer Offices, Industrial PhDs and collaborative research programmes.
