Commission seeks expert evaluators for Horizon 2020 Prize on Social Innovation
The European Commission is looking for experts to review applications for the Horizon Prize for Social Innovation. The purpose of this contest is to develop innovative and sustainable mobility and transport solutions improving the lives of older people and people with disabilities. The Commission is looking for experts with a high level of expertise and professional experience in social innovation, social entrepreneurship, ageing, mobility and transport.
The prize was launched on 27 November 2017 during the "Opening up to an era of social innovation" conference in Lisbon. Applications will be accepted until 28 February 2019, and the prize will be awarded in the second or third quarter of 2019.
After the application deadline, the selected panel of evaluators will assess remotely the applications to identify up to ten finalists, provided that their marks reach at least the thresholds mentioned in the rules of contest. After the remote evaluations, the finalists will be invited for a hearing with the panel of evaluators (central evaluations) to determine the five winners. The evaluators may also be required to perform on-site visits in order to assess the solutions proposed by the finalists. Applications must be sent preferably before 30 September 2018.
