EC adopts JRC work programme for 2018-19

The European Commission (EC) has adopted the Work Programme for the Joint Research Centre (JRC) for 2018-2019. The JRC is operated under Horizon 2020.

The Key Orientations reflect the work JRC will carry out and are structured in accordance with the political priorities of the Commission. The JRC is developing new work on the resilience of societies, the drivers and impact of fairness, and the impact of new technologies on society.

In support of the Commission's objective of improving the way it manages knowledge, the JRC is setting up Knowledge and Competence Centres. Knowledge centres already set up include centres for food fraud and quality, territorial policies, disaster risk management, migration and demography, and bioeconomy. Competence centres the JRC has already established include centres for micro-economic evaluation, composite indicators and scoreboards, data and text mining, and modelling. A new knowledge centre for global food and nutrition security and a new competence centre on foresight will also be launched.
