EUA calls on members to submit nominations for EUA President and Board
EUA, the European University Association, has launched a call for candidates for the next EUA President or for one of its five Board member positions to be filled for the period of 2019-2023 (three more board members were elected in 2017 and will serve until 2021). The call is open to rectors and presidents of EUA individual full and collective full members with an interest in being nominated.
All nominations should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by 9 April 2018, and should include a short CV of no more than 2 pages. Interested candidates will be expected to participate in an interview in Brussels in May-June 2018. The elections will take place at the EUA General Assembly in Paris on 11 April 2019. The new Board members will take office directly after the elections, while the new President will take office in June/July 2019.
The EUA points out that in making nominations, members are asked to bear in mind that the EUA President and Board members must reflect the cultural and geographical diversity of Europe, and that the Board must be balanced in terms of gender, age and academic discipline. In addition, there is a statutory requirement that there can be only one Board member per country, and that four of the eight Board members must be active rectors at the time of their election.
