Austria presents its first ERA Progress Report at Strategic Dialogue on ERA
On 29 June 2017, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy presented the first Austrian ERA Progress Report within the framework of the Austrian ERA Roadmap. The report looks at the reform activities that have taken place since the Austrian government adopted the Roadmap in April 2016. The Progress Report focuses on the first achievements in the implementation of the adopted measures. It also includes indicators for the six ERA Roadmap priority areas. The priorities should help to assess the need for action in the national innovation systems. In order to optimise this process, additional indicators have been added for Austria. Achievements have already been recorded in all priority areas.
The presentation of the report was embedded in a strategic dialogue with Mr. Richard Deiss, a representative of the European Commission. Mr. Deiss presented the Austrian performance in the recently released European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS) 2017. According to the report, Austria is one of the countries showing the greatest progress, and it is part of the group of Strong Innovators.
