EC releases Flash Call Info for recent H2020 calls

The European Commission (EC), DG Reserach and Innovation, has published Flash Call Information briefs for recent calls under Horizon 2020 on its Participant Portal.

Stage 1 of the two-stage call for "Smart and Sustainable Cities" (cross-cutting activities under the Societal Challenges pillar of H2020), which closed on 14 February 2017, received a total of 17 proposals, 3 of which were evaluated as being above threshold, requesting a total budget of € 53.4 million. The EC expects the first grant agreements to be signed by 14 October 2017 at the latest.

Under Stage 1 of the "Industry 2020 in the Circular Economy" call (cross-cutting activities under the Industrial Leadership pillar of H2020), the topic "Systemic, eco-innovative approaches for the circular economy: large scale demonstration projects" received 71 proposals, of which 26 were above threshold, requesting a total budget of € 167 million. 45 proposals were submitted for the topic "Water in the context of the circular economy", with 11 above threshold, requesting a budget of € 108 million. The above-threshold proposals have already been invited to submit full proposals by 5 Sept. 2017.

Under Stage 1 of the "Greening the Economy" call (Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials work programme under the Societal Challenges pillar of H2020), the topic "Large-scale demonstrators on nature-based solutions for hydro-meteorological risk reduction" received 16 proposals, with 8 above threshold (total budget € 104.8 million). 49 proposals were submitted under "Raw materials Innovation actions", with 17 above threshold (€ 179.8 million), and "Cultural heritage as a driver for sustainable growth" had 42 proposals, with 4 above threshold (€ 35.3 million). The above-threshold proposals have already been invited to submit full proposals by 5 Sept. 2017.
