Another 65 early-career researchers awarded ERC Starting Grants
In addition to the 325 early-career scientists awarded Starting Grants in September last year, the ERC announced another 65 winners of the 2016 competition on 3 April 2017. The grantees will receive funding, worth up to €1.5 million per project, to build their own research teams and pursue their best ideas at the frontiers of knowledge. This year, around €96 million in additional budget have been made available to the ERC.
Out of the 65 selected researchers, 4 are working at Austrian host institutions:
Anna Maria COCLITE, Graz University of Technology (Smart Core/shell nanorod arrays for artificial skin)
Cezary KALISZYK, University of Innsbruck (Strong Modular proof Assistance: Reasoning across Theories)
Markus MUTTENTHALER, University of Vienna (Novel therapeutic approaches to improve gastrointestinal wound healing)
Sandra SIEGERT, Institute of Science and Technology Austria (Microglia action towards neuronal circuit formation and function in health and disease).
