EC adopts JRC Work Programme for 2017-2018

The European Commission (EC) adopted the Work Programme for the Joint Research Centre (JRC) for 2017-2018 on 24 March 2017. The JRC is funded under Horizon 2020. According to the JRC, the key orientations of its work programme are structured in accordance with the political priorities of the Commission.

In particular, the work programme provides for the JRC to support the Commission’s work on "better regulation", which focuses on designing efficient polices and laws with minimum cost while avoiding overregulation. The work programme also contains knowledge management activities. These include knowledge centers for territorial policies, disaster risk management, and migration and demography, as well as competence centers on micro-economic evaluation, composite indicators and scoreboards, data and text mining, and modelling.
