Research Ministers support early stage researchers and international cooperation.
At the Council Competitiveness on November 29, Research Ministers adopted Council Conclusions on possible support measures for early stage researchers and they discussed the latest implementation report regarding the EU strategy for International Cooperation. In these conclusions, they
stress their willingness to promote science and research, particularly in teaching; to provide clearer and more structured career prospects, with transparent recruitment procedures and to better support early stage researchers, particularly women, with mentoring programmes and a better balance between research activities and teaching.
Ministers stressed that international cooperation - which has declined since the start of Horizon 2020 - should be strengthened again. On the basis of this observation, several member states suggested a number of adjustments to the European Commission.
