EIT launches call for new member of Governing Board
The European Institute of Innovation and Technology has today launched a Call for Expression of Interest to select a new member of the EIT Governing Board. The EIT Governing Board consists of 12 members appointed by the European Commission, and is entrusted with providing the strategic leadership of the EIT. It is independent and autonomous in its decision-making and is in particular responsible for the selection, designation and evaluation of the EIT’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). The new member will be appointed following the resignation of Mr. Nigel Thrift from the Governing Board on 15 January 2016. The members' term of office is four years, and is non-renewable. Applications have to be submitted by 23 June 2016.
A steering committee will be in charge of identifying a list of potential candidates for the EIT Governing Board that is then approved by the EIT Governing Board who submits it to the European Commission for the nomination of the new Member of the EIT Governing Board in autumn 2016.
