EARTO and LERU publish positions on EIC

The European Association of Research and Technology Associations (EARTO) and the League of European Research Universities (LERU) have published their positions on the European Innovation Council (EIC), within the framework of the European Commission's current consultation. In addition, EARTO has also published its position on the European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI).

With regard to the EIC, EARTO proposes a pilot to be carried out under Horizon 2020, which should focus on the key priorities of streamlining existing instruments & organising complementary support; taking stock of existing research & innovation infrastructures; and supporting the growth of innovative research-driven entrepreneurship. LERU emphasises the need for a systemic approach to EU innovation, and calls for optimising, streamlining and simplifying current EU institutions and instruments dedicated to innovation.
