FP7 funded GraWIToN network contributes to the Gravitational Waves detection
The reseachers of GraWIToN project were involved in the data analysis and the techonological development necessary for the scientific milestone of the detection of gravitational waves, or ripples in the fabric of spacetime, caused by the collision of two black holes, and confirm one of Einstein's key predictions in his theory of relativity.
The GraWiToN project, responsible for this breakthrough, is an Initial Training Network, funded under Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, in which 14 EU-supported young researchers participate. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellows working on the project come from host institutions in France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.
