Austrian Science Ministry launches new programme on global research cooperation
On 17 December the Austrian Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (BMWFW) launched "Beyond Europe", a new programm aiming at supporting research cooperation with partners from outside Europe. BMWFW considers the expansion and operationalisation of internationalisation activities as a key point for strengthening Austria’s position as a research hub by taking measures designed to meet current challenges and trends.
The budget for the first call is € 4.6 million. The programme will be implemented by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). Funding will be available for "explorative projects" and "cooperative projects". Selected "explorative projects" will be granted a maximum of € 200,000.- and "cooperative projects" may receive a maximum grant of € 500,000.-. The deadline for proposals is 7 March 2016.
