EARTO presents position paper on European Innovation Council

EARTO, the European Association of Research and Technology Organisations, presented its recommendations on a European Innovation Council on 10 December 2015. With this paper, EARTO aims to contribute positively to the debate by presenting further ideas on how the EIC should be designed to support EU innovation policy. The idea of a European Innovation Council was launched by Commissioner Carlos Moedas in June 2015. EARTO sees the EIC as a key action towards a strong EU innovation policy that should be focused on how to bring research results to the market (i.e. crossing the valley of death), and how to ensure a full deployment of new technological opportunities by European industry to generate impact, and to keep and create jobs and economic growth in Europe. The paper should initiate further discussions with the European Commission on this topic.
