Five new research consortia working on “Nutrition and Cognitive Function"
Five transnational research consortia including 26 research groups from 9 European countries (Austria, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland and the United Kingdom) have been recommended for funding under the umbrella of the Joint Call "Nutrition and Cognitive Function" launched by the Joint Programming Initiative “A Healthy Diet For A Healthy Life” (JPI HDHL). The projects will focus on a broad range of research questions, such as the interactions between diet, cognition and stress, the relation between dietary bioactives and cognitive ageing, or the influence of specific nutritional components on brain plasticity and development.
The projects were reviewed by an international expert panel and selected from 39 applications. 10 funding organisations are joining forces to fund the projects with an envisaged budget of about 5.7 M€.
