EC presents results of consultation on ex-post FP7 evaluation at Brussels event
On 27 October 2015, an event co-organised by the European Commission (EC) and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) to present the outcome of the public consultation held within the framework of the ex-post evaluation of FP7 took place in Brussels.
An external ex-post evaluation of the rationale, implementation and achievements of the 7th Framework Programme by independent experts is a legal requirement and was commissioned by the EC accordingly. The evaluation is due to be completed by the end of 2015 and was carried out in the context of the Commission’s Better Regulation Agenda. The evaluation also included an online public consultation between February and May 2015, the outcome of which was presented at this week's Brussels event.
Overall satisfaction of respondents to the consultation with FP7 was good, FP7 was seen as having EU added value, boosting excellence and contributing to creating the European Research Area. Issues on the downside were administration, narrow calls and oversubscription, not enough focus on societal impact and industry participation, as well as high entry-barriers.
The presentations have now been made available online.
