Eurostat registers decrease in industrial production in euro area
According to estimates from Eurostat, the EU's statistics office, seasonally adjusted industrial production fell by 0.5% in the euro area (EA19) and by 0.3% in the EU28, in August 2015 compared with July 2015. In July 2015 industrial production rose by 0.8% and 0.4% respectively. Compared to the previous year, industrial production increased by 0.9% in the euro area and by 1.9% in the EU28 in August 2015 compared with August 2014, .
According to Eurostat, the largest decreases in industrial production among the Member States for which data are available, were registered in the Czech Republic (-4.3%), Croatia (-4.1%) and Lithuania (-3.5%), and the highest increases in Sweden (+4.0%), Greece (+3.9%), Denmark and France (both +1.6%).
