Two ERA Council members appointed for Austrian RTD Council
The Austrian government has appointed some new members for the new term of its Council for Research and Technology Development as of 6 September 2015. Two of the newly appointed members are also members of the ERA Council Forum Austria, which was established in 2014: Helga Nowotny, former president of the ERC and current Chair of the ERA Council Forum Austria, and Hermann Hauser, entrepreneur and business angel.
Additional new members of the Austrian Council for Research and Technology Development are Sabine Herlitschka (Infineon), Jakob Edler (University of Manchester), Klara Sekanina (Swiss Commission for Technology and Innovation), and Sylvia Schwaag-Serger (VINNOVA). Hannes Androsch and Markus Hengstschläger, who are already members of the Austrian Council, have been appointed again for the new term.
The main task of the Austrian Council for Research and Technology Development is to provide advice to the Austrian Federal Government on all issues concerning research, technology and innovation policy.
