ERC Starting Grants Call receives nearly 3,000 proposals
The European Commission has announced that a total of 2920 proposals were submitted under the 2015 Starting Grant Call of the European Research Council (ERC). The deadline for the Call was 3 February 2015. The largest share is accounted for by Physical Sciences & Engineering with 1,286 proposals, followed by Life Sciences with 937, and the Social Sciences and Humanities 697.
ERC Starting Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme. This action is open to researchers of any nationality who intend to conduct their research activity in any Member State or Associated Country. The ERC's frontier research grants operate on a 'bottom-up' basis without predetermined priorities.
