Slovakia will contribute € 400 million to EFSI

Slovakia has announced that it will contribute €400 million to projects benefiting from finance by the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). The contribution will be made by way of Sloviakia's National Promotional Banks. This makes Slovakia the seventh country to contribute to the EFSI, even before it becomes fully operational. Other countries that have already made financial commitments are Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Luxembourg and Poland. Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen, responsible for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, welcomed Slovakia's decision which was announced on the occasion of the Vice-Presidentt's visit to Bratislava on 15 June 2015.
