JRC and COST sign Memorandum of Understanding
On Wednesday, 25 February 2015, the COST Association announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC). This MoU lays down a joint commitment of COST and the JRC for a mutually beneficial closer cooperation "in order to coordinate science and technology networking activities in fields of common interest". These fields of common interest include, in particular, environment and climate change, energy, transport, agriculture and food security, health and consumer protection, information society, technological advances, innovation and standardisation.
Cooperation under the MoU is potentially long-term and commits the two institutions to exchanging knowledge and expertise more systematically, in order to ensure efficient use of information and resources.
