European Commission launches public consultation on the future of science

The European Commission's Directorates-General for Research and Innovation (RTD) and Communications Networks, Content and Technology (CNECT) have launched a public consultation on “Science 2.0: Science in Transition”.

The focus of this consultation is on changing science and research practices in the European Research Area and beyond, in particular on the transition towards open, digital science. It looks at stakeholder communities’ awareness of and participation in these new trends, and aims to assess how they perceive the opportunities and challenges of this transition. The consultation also welcomes input on possible policy implications and actions. Stakeholder communities are invited to participate in the consultation on Science 2.0, which will remain open until 30 September 2014.
