New step towards 'wonder material' graphene applications

Researchers of the “Graphene” project, one of the Future and Emerging Technologies flagship projects (FET Flagships) in Dublin (AMBER centre of the Trinity College Dublin) have reached a new stage in their work by devising a new process for the massive delivery of Graphene-based materials. Graphene is a 2D material , a single layer of carbon atoms, stronger than diamond, yet lightweight and flexible and an exceptional electricity conductor. In the longer term, graphene is expected to give rise to new computers and revolutionary medical applications such as artificial retinas. The “Graphene” project will receive funding of € 1 billion over a ten-year period  from Horizon 2020. This funding will come from Horizon 2020 and partners like Member States, universities and industry.
