"Gender Equality in Science and Research 2025"

In order to react to the European Union’s challenges on the way towards implementing a European Research Area, EU member states are called upon to overcome some major barriers. One obstacle is the considerable lack and inefficient deployment of highly skilled women in research. With respect to the ERA priority on gender equality and gender mainstreaming in research, the Austrian Institute for Advanced Studies will carry out a study on behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research. This study will focus on how to achieve structural and cultural change within the scientific and research community.

The study will provide a vision of gender equality in science and research in the year 2025 by developing an action-oriented basis for strengthening cultural change in Austria’s scientific and research organisations further. Results of this study will be available in September 2014.
