'Stick to Science' initiative calls for quick association of UK and CH to Horizon Europe
A number of scientific associations and organisations from the UK and Switzerland have launched a campaign calling on EU leaders to place science collaboration before politics and ensure the participation of the UK and Switzerland in Horizon Europe. The campaign is called 'Stick to Science' and was launced by Universities UK, EPFL, ETH Zurich, the ETH Board, Wellcome and The Royal Society. The initiative is supported by several scientific associations and organisations within the EU, such as The Guild of European Research Intensive Universities (The Guild), CESAER or the League of European Universities (LERU).
The 'Stick to Science' initiative has been set up by the European research community calling for open and barrier-free collaboration among Europe’s research and innovation (R&I) actors, who all share the same values. The initiative declares itself as "an active response to the delayed progression of association agreements with Switzerland and the United Kingdom (UK), which are being held up by political barriers that have nothing to do with science". The signatories call on the EU, the UK and Switzerland to rapidly reach association agreements so that the two countries can contribute to and participate in Horizon Europe and be part of a truly open, inclusive and excellence-driven European Research Area.
