Research Policy Group discusses future of research careers
On 14 October 2020, the Research Policy Group met in Lisbon in a virtual format to discuss the future of research careers in the European Research Area. Delegations highlighted the need for an improved European career framework for researchers. They shared pros and cons of brain circulation, also against the backdrop of COVID-19. Directors-General for research from Member States, Associated Countries and the European Commission also debated enhanced intersectoral mobility schemes. The incoming Portuguese EU Council Presidency announced that the topic of human resources will be at the core of their chair of the European Union during the first semester of 2021.
