Helsinki Group meets in Brussels
On 11 and 12 March 2014, the 30th meeting of the Helsinki Group on Gender in Research and Innovation (HG) took place in Brussels. The HG is an advisory group of the European Commission that contributes to addressing the disadvantages of women in the fields of research and science. According to the HG mandate of April 2013, the HG may establish sub-groups on specific issues of common interest. Three thematic sub-groups have been created so far that are focusing on the Helsinki Group’s Awareness, HG’s role in ERA, and a sub-group on the implementation of gender in Horizon 2020. In the context of the sub-group on Horizon 2020, a Vademecum on Gender Equality in Horizon 2020 has been prepared by the European Commission and agreed by the Helsinki Group members.
