First ERA chairs selected

Eleven research organisations of less-developed EU regions will receive funding up to euro 2.4 million each to establish “ERA Chairs“. The “ERA Chairs“ measure aims at helping regions with lower research and innovation capacity to attract outstanding researchers and their teams. The ERA Chair position has to be published and must respect ERA principles such as e.g. open and merit-based recruitment and gender equality.
A new “ERA Chairs” call is currently open under Horizon 2020. The budget provided is euro 34 million.
