EuroHPC Joint Undertaking signs hosting agreement for LEVENTE Supercomputer in Hungary
The EuroHPC Joint Undertaking and Hungary's Digital Government Development and Project Management Company (DKF) have officially signed a hosting agreement for LEVENTE, a new world-class mid-range EuroHPC supercomputer to be located in Budapest. Once procured, LEVENTE will be capable of executing at least 23 petaflops—equivalent to 23 million billion operations per second.
Operated by DKF, LEVENTE will feature energy-efficient liquid cooling and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The supercomputer is designed to support scientific excellence and innovation across Europe, meeting the needs not only of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking but also Hungary’s academic, research, and small and medium-sized enterprise sectors.
By expanding the AI infrastructure available to European users, LEVENTE is set to play a key role in the AI Factories strategy—an initiative focused on developing open AI ecosystems around EuroHPC supercomputing facilities. The aim is to foster a competitive and innovative AI ecosystem in Europe.
