EU R&I stakeholder organisations urge rapid association of UK to EU programmes in joint statement

A number of UK, Irish and wider European research, innovation and business stakeholder organisations have signed a joint statement urging rapid progress on UK association to EU programmes, including Horizon Europe, Copernicus and Euratom.
The signatories welcome EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s emphatic support for UK association to Horizon Europe, following the signing of the Windsor Framework. They call for both sides to put renewed efforts into associating the UK to EU programmes, stressing the UK’s place in EU programmes is crucial for shoring up the future of world-leading research, sustainable growth and high-level skills and calling for full UK membership of EU programmes, including Horizon Europe, Copernicus and Euratom.
The 18 signatories of this statement include amongst others: the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), the Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities (the Guild), the League of European Research Universities (LERU), and Russell Group (UK).
