EC consultation on next MFF is closing shortly

The European Commission's public consultation on the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) is closing on 6 May 2025 (midnight Brussels time). The consultation was opened on 12 February 2025, to feed into the Commission's preparation for the next MFF, the EU's long-term budget, which will start in 2028. So far, the Commission has received 1,270 valid feedback instances.
Following President von der Leyen's Political Guidelines for the 2024-2029 European Commission, the Commission has pointed out that it aims to create a simpler, more focused, and responsive budget that reflects European strategic priorities. To achieve this, a series of seven public consultations have been launched to gather views from interested parties on how to make the most of the EU budget. The consultations cover various policy areas, including cohesion policy, agriculture, and home affairs, with the goal of creating a more effective and efficient budget that delivers on key objectives. The Commission's proposals are expected to be presented in 2025.
