Commission launches Foresight platform and publishes 8 Foresight policy briefs
On 19 February, 2024 the European Commission's DG RTD launched the Foresight platform 'futures4europe'. The aim of the initiative is to support engagement with strategic foresight activities for Horizon Europe. The platform is hosted by the Foresight on Demand consortium (FOD) with support by the European Commission. The FOD is a group of individuals and organisations aiming at networking the foresight community in Europe and beyond with a view to support the Research and Innovation Policy of the European Union, its Member States and of countries associated with the EU Framework Programme.
With a view to supporting the reflection towards for the next Framework Programme, the platform provided 8 policy briefs that have now been published by the Commission:
- Futures of innovation and intellectual property regulation in 2040
- Futures of big tech in Europe
- Futures of science for policy in Europe
- Futures of using nature in rural and marine Europe in 2050
